Tape of Carpenter Engineering 5 Meters tape measure is designed to be British-Metric Graduation. It is consisted with most common of 2 types of measurements: fractional scale and decimal scale based on metric measurements system(millimeters, centimeters, meters).
The top row numbers are imperial measurements, which have graduation based on fraction, such as 1/2”, 1/4”, 1/8” etc. While the bottom row numbers represent metric measurements, which have graduation based on the decimal system, for example 0.1, 0.01...
Design for imperial measurements
The graduation between 1 with 6 inches are the smallest, which is designed to be 1/32” (there are 32 spaces between every inch). Graduations after 6 inches are designed to be 1/16”(there are 16 marks contained within a single inch). Every 12" (1') is marked with yellow bold number in black square. In every 12 inches (1’), each 1/2” is marked with red numbers(1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc...)

The numer of every 10cm is marked in red.
